Casa Contemporanea - Dream House!
We’re so excited that the Art a la Carte Online Auction has finally started! And we’re even more excited that we’ve already received our first bid. So which of the fabulous auction items got the first love from our bidding public?
Casa Contemporanea. And, frankly it doesn’t surprise us. That is one spectacular house. Located in Merida, capital of the state of Yucatan in Mexico, Casa Contemporanea is a mid-century modern gem. This property was lovingly and meticulously renovated by artist, Randy Shull with architect, Henry Ponce. Everything about Casa Contemporanea reflects Shull’s artistic eye and attention to luxurious detail.
The inside of the house holds an impressive collection of fine art. The outside is landscaped with gorgeous, lush tropical gardens and boasts a 60-foot lap pool in its tranquil courtyard. More intimate and inviting than any resort, this home would be a perfect home base to explore the city of Mérida, or to relax and enjoy the Mexican sun.
Separated from most of Mexico by its unique geographical location, Yucatan and Mérida are culturally rich and historically fascinating locales. Mérida is a cultural center, full of art galleries, restaurants and shopping. Mérida has a plethora of old, beautiful colonial buildings and is a vibrant city center where music and dancing play an important role in day-to-day life. The most famous avenue in the city, Paseo de Montejo, is lined with original sculpture.
And if the city is what you’re trying to escape - the gorgeous beaches on the Gulf of Mexico are only a 40 minute drive from the house.
MMMM. Beaches, art, culture, colonial architecture, Mexico, lap pool, vacation, vacation, vacation. We better get going, need to round up five friends and bid on this beauty. I think I can picture myself by that pool with a margarita…
